Ice Skater

This figure skater was created for the Micro:bit Virtual Olympics. It uses a PaperMech planetary gear mechanism to spin, and Riccardo Fuschi's origami Flying Dancer as the skater. The music in the video is from Yuzuru Hanyu's Free Skate at the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics.

Design

The origami model is Riccardo Fuschi's Flying Dancer, folded with rice paper and accented with gold paint. The spinning mechanism uses PaperMech's planetary gear mechanism.
